It is reported that Arthur Melo, who arrived in the summer at Liverpool, has employed his fitness team to ensure a quick start under Jurgen Klopp.
The Brazil and Juventus midfielder, who is on loan at Anfield until next summer after arriving on deadline, came as a substitute during the Reds’ 4-1 defeat to Napoli in the Champions League earlier this month.
Although Arthur delivered his debut fairly quickly – less than a week after completing his move to Merseyside – Jurgen Klopp decided not to use the playmaker against Ajax the following week.
It is said that Arthur Melo has hired his own fitness team since arriving in Liverpool
The Brazilian midfielder signed with the Reds on loan from Juventus on this month’s deadline
The 26-year-old picked up a few hamstring and ankle injuries at Juventus after arriving from Barcelona as a highly-rated youngster in 2020.
When he heard his new manager was planning to ‘be careful’ before using him frequently, Arthur reportedly hired his own fitness team to help him run fast after he missed Liverpool’s pre-season.
“Arthur now only needs football – and training, in particular, that’s the situation,” the Reds boss said earlier this month.
Coach Jurgen Klopp admitted he will have to “be careful” before using the Brazilian too much
“He’s doing really well, he’s really doing his best in training, we have to be careful with him as well, and then we’ll see if we can use him.”
according to timesDietitian Joanna Pessoa del Oro, physiotherapist Adrien Martinez Castro and fitness trainer Daniel Esteban Labarca Encina joined Arthur at Anfield to help develop him.
With Liverpool’s last two Premier League games postponed following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the Brazilian has had to think outside the box in order to find his much-needed match time.
Youth coach Barry Lotas has revealed that Arthur is building fitness with the Under 21
Arthur asked Liverpool under-21 coach Barry Lotas if he could be part of the youth team during the international break and later played against Leicester in the Premier League 2 and Rochdale in the Papa John’s Cup.
Lotas said to Liverpool Echo: ‘Arthur has been on the international break playing games and building his physique.
This is from his back, and this indicates his level of professionalism. He was great with the boys too. It was first class.
