Manchester United already has one hot spot in South America in Anthony. And in Alejandro Garnacho, they also have another. The Argentina international was named to the club’s traveling squad on Thursday night for the Europa League match with Sherif, and in the absence of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, he is hoping for a springboard.
Manchester United have won their last four Premier League games, recovering from some terrible early season performances against Brighton and Brentford.
However, the Red Devils got a sobering test against Real Sociedad last week, losing 1-0 through a penalty from Bryce Mendes.
United need to beat Sharif on Thursday night to boost their chances of reaching the knockout stages of the Europa League, especially given their desire to win their first title since 2017.
With both Rashford and Martial absent, Garnacho was included in the traveling group.
In recent years, United have had several academy alumni stormed into the first team and have been getting the beat up in the process.
From Rashford to Adnan Januzaj, and from Brandon Williams to Charles McNeill, there has been no shortage of talent off the production line.

But Garnacho is the latest teen talent to be nominated for a bright future, having already proven his ability to excel at the youth level.
The 18-year-old sparkled at the end of last season when the club won the FA Youth Cup, scoring twice in a 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest.
This earned him praise from coach Travis Binion, who said after the match: “This boy could be in any stadium in the world and he wouldn’t care.
“That’s his makeup. Few of them are like that and that’s why they’re going to get good jobs.
“This football club is great at that, it’s the best in the world at that.
“We have to keep it going, and we have a responsibility to keep going — the pipeline. It’s good to give the fans something because they are a different class.”

What Tin Hag said to his players about Glazer
The Glazers have five reasons to sell Man United
Garnacho was initially selected as a star-studded star in the making by Atletico Madrid, only for United to land the teenager two years ago.
He made his first appearance at the hands of Ralf Rangnick in a 1-1 draw with Chelsea at the end of last season.
And while he was limited to appearing as a substitute against Brighton and Real Sociedad, the United star caught the eye in the 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano during pre-season.
The Argentine was the best player on the field that day, which means his absence so far this season is somewhat baffling.
Very good is Garnacho, there were some speculations about the possibility of including him in the Argentina squad for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.

So, with Rashford and Martial absent from United, the teenager could be in line for some action against Sharif.
In Anthony, the Red Devils have a hot shot from South America that’s almost guaranteed to hit the field.
Fans will hope to get more of a glimpse of Garnacho and his phenomenal talent when they take to the field on Thursday night.
Meanwhile, the real Anthony spoke as United seek a return to winning ways.
He has urged the Red Devils to turn back, while also admitting that he is excited to have more playing time under his belt.

“I always look forward to playing in the United shirt,” he said.
“It’s always reason to feel excited.
“Unfortunately, we lost our last home game, [but] Now we need to focus 100 per cent on the away game and bring the three points home.”
He added: “We will face difficulties. We know it will be a difficult match.
“[But] Everyone knows the greatness of Manchester United, so we are going to take to the pitch and honor this important badge.”
