Seven players summoned across Huddersfield Town
– Sorba Thomas and Brody Spencer shine again in international ranks
– John Russell received his first summons

Below is an update on the seven international calls Huddersfield Town players received during the international break in September 2022.

Surba Thomas – Wales

The city winger once again received an international call to the Welsh side after helping them qualify for the World Cup in June.

Rob Page’s team will play two matches during this break in the Nations League as they prepare to compete in Group B for the World Cup in Qatar this winter.

Keep an eye out for Thomas as Wales play Belgium on Thursday 22nd September and Poland on Sunday 25th September, as he will look to show what kind of threat Wales will be at the World Cup.

John Russell – Jamaica

The 21-year-old received his first call-up to the Jamaican national team for the CONCACAF Nations League match against Argentina on Wednesday 28th September, and the midfielder will be looking to make his debut with Tudor Whitmore’s Raja Boys.

Jamaica’s last game ended in a 1-1 draw with this year’s World Cup hosts in August 2022, so Russell will be looking for a win on his first international call-up.

The 19-year-old has earned valuable minutes for Town’s First Team this season, coming on as a substitute and making an impact – as seen when he came on against Norwich and scored his first goal for the Terrier.

The Young Dragons will face Austria in an international friendly match on Tuesday 27 September in Vienna.
